Aisha Yesufu to supporters: Focus only on Obi’s 2027 presidential win
Aisha Yesufu has told her supporters to shut out all distractions and concentrate solely on delivering Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
The activist and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) member made the call in a message posted on X on Thursday. She said the movement must maintain single-minded focus until Obi is elected and sworn into office.
Yesufu said every discussion outside the 2027 election was a waste of time. She warned supporters to ignore conversations that did not advance Obi’s path to the presidency.
“My dear supporters, remember, we have moved on and focused on the bigger picture.
“Any conversation that is not about the 2027 presidential election and how to get Peter Obi @PeterObi elected and sworn into office, please ignore. After the 2027 General Elections we will have the luxury to respond if it is worth our time. For now we will continue with our tunnel vision on the presidential election,” she wrote.
The directive comes after Yesufu lost the NDC primary for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat. She remains a staunch backer of Obi and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
She insisted the group would not be drawn into side debates until after the general elections. Yesufu said the priority was clear and all energy must serve that goal.
